T o celebrate LiUNA Local 183 members and their families, the union

hosted the traditional Family Day at Downsview Park.

The event took place on the 8th and 9th of July and was marked by powerful
speeches of thanks to the members of LiUNA 183 and their families. Jack
Oliveira, business manager, proudly pointed out that on that day LiUNA had
72,000 members.

Jack took the opportunity to thank all the members, their wives, reps and
their employees, and even reinforced his pride in the retirees and their loyalty
to LiUNA 183.

The day was filled with fun, food and fellowship among members and their
families, as well as raffles that presented members with prizes such as
vehicles and TVs. The children had plenty of toys for their enjoyment and
plenty of treats.

Joseph S. Mancinelli, LiUNA International Vice President Canadian Director
& Regional Manager for Central and Eastern Canada, congratulated all the
members and executive board of LiUNA 183 for the fantastic job they are
doing, building Toronto and all the communities around the GTA.

Stephen Francis Lecce, Minister of Education of Ontario, honoured the event
and congratulated LIUNA’s great work.

LiUNA Local 183’s Family Day was a success thanks to the commitment
of the members who write LiUNA’s history every day and were able to be
honoured at this special moment.
