Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the second baby, of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who now occupies eighth place in the line of succession to the throne, was born on the morning of June 4th in California.
The royal couple named their daughter after Queen Elizabeth II, her great-grandmother, who as a child was nicknamed Lilibet. The name “Diana” was chosen to honor her grandmother, Princess Diana. The tribute also extends to Meghan’s mother, who used to call her daughter “Lily” as a child, a nickname for Lilibeth that refers to the lily flower.
The Royal Family congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Lilibeth’s birth through Buckingham Palace’s official Instagram account.
