Several heat records were broken in western Canada in the last days of June. The heat wave is now sweeping across central Canada, affecting Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
In addition, it is also burning forests in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Scientists comment that it’s time to take drastic measures, which is the same message they’ve been saying for the last two decades and done nothing about it.
Natural Resource Canada released a report containing over 700 pages earlier this month. Findings mentioned in the report include that patterns of change, rise in temperature and sea level will continue to grow and will be extreme for years to come. In some cases, small lakes and ponds are experiencing severe droughts along the west coast.
