As the vaccination rate increases in Ontario, with more than 50% of the population vaccinated with both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, the number of positive cases was less than 200, the lowest since September 6, 2020.
With the milestone regarding the vaccination plan achieved last week, the authorities are now thinking about redirecting some strategies to reach the adults who haven’t yet received the first dose of the vaccine.
The goal is to shift the rollout from mass clinics to primary care settings, as this population represents 10 to 15 percent of adults in the province of Ontario.
The Minister of Health, Christine Elliot, and other officials are working with public health units and trying to determine a target number for the immunization plan.
