The stay-at-home order issued by the Ontario government was extended until at least June 2, 2021, together with public health and safety measures at work.
The decision was taken in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, due to the new, more contagious variants of COVID-19 that continue to pose significant risks to the population.
During this period, the government is preparing to administer the two doses of the Pfizer vaccine to young people aged 12 to 17, starting on May 31, a period in which the province is also planning for its gradual and safe reopening.
The government hopes to carry out the application of the doses by the end of August, with the support and collaboration of several institutions.

A Ordem de Permanência em Casa, emitida pelo governo de Ontário, foi prorrogada ao menos até o dia 2 de junho de 2021, juntamente com as medidas de saúde pública e segurança no trabalho.
A decisão foi tomada em conjunto com o Chief Medical Officer of Health, devido às novas variantes mais contagiosas da COVID-19 que continuam representando riscos significativos à população.
