O foi invadida pelo grupo extremista islâmico
Hamas. Centenas de pessoas foram executadas a
sangue frio e outras sequestradas e levadas para a
Faixa de Gaza, controlada pelo próprio Hamas. Deu-se
início a um novo capítulo de uma guerra histórica no
Oriente Médio pelo controle de territórios palestinos.
Então, os bombardeios israelenses começaram, destruindo
bairros inteiros e matando centenas de pessoas na Faixa
de Gaza. Os extremistas islâmicos também atacaram com
bombas e provocaram pânico em Israel, um país com muitos
imigrantes e turistas. Foi nesse momento que o governo
brasileiro se destacou das demais nações. Mobilizou sua
Força Aérea para buscar esses brasileiros, tirá-los da zona de
guerra e devolvê-los à terra natal.
Foi o primeiro país a organizar essa logística. Até o dia 20
de outubro, foram sete aviões que aterrissaram em Tel Aviv
e decolaram cheios. Outros países passaram a fazer o
mesmo. Mas enquanto o Reino Unido e os Estados Unidos,
por exemplo, cobram cada passageiro pelo resgate, o
Brasil busca seus nacionais sem cobrar nada por isso.
O país também tenta o resgate de brasileiros e
palestinos que vivem no Brasil e que haviam viajado
para Gaza. Para isso, eles precisam atravessar a
fronteira e chegar ao Egito, onde um avião já os espera.
Mas esse resgate depende de uma negociação com
o governo de Israel, para que respeite a formação
de um corredor humanitário, seguro.
Torcemos por um cessar-fogo em breve. Não
apenas para o resgate de brasileiros, mas
também pela preservação da vida de israelenses
e, sobretudo, palestinos. O Hamas domina uma
região superpopulosa e vulnerável, de 2 milhões
de habitantes, civis que nenhuma relação têm
com o terrorismo, mas que são os que mais
sofrem.

Then Israeli bombings began, destroying entire neighborhoods and
killing hundreds of people in the Gaza Strip. Islamic extremists also
attacked with bombs and caused panic in Israel, a country with many
immigrants and tourists. It was at this moment that the Brazilian
government stood out from other nations. It mobilized its Air Force
to search for Brazilians, take them out of the war zone and return
them to their homeland.
It was the first country to organize this logistics. Until October
20th, seven planes landed in Tel Aviv and took off full. Other
countries began to do the same. But while the United Kingdom
and the United States, for example, charge each passenger for
the rescue, Brazil searches for its nationals without charging
anything for it.
The country is also trying to rescue Brazilians and
Palestinians living in Brazil and who had traveled to Gaza. To
do this, they need to cross the border and get to Egypt, where
a plane is already waiting for them. But this rescue depends
on negotiation with the Israeli government, so that it respects
the formation of a safe, humanitarian corridor.
We hope for a ceasefire soon. Not only to rescue Brazilians, but
also to preserve the lives of Israelis and, above all, Palestinians.
Hamas dominates an overpopulated and vulnerable region, with
2 million inhabitants, civilians who have no relationship with
terrorism, but who are the ones who suffer most.
