ery proud. It was this emotion stamped on the face and
words of Jack Oliveira, business manager of LIUNA Local
V183 and LIUNA OPDC, for awarding 113 scholarships this
year and seeing the students beaming at such an achievement
that has encouraged them to do their best and that It will
transform their lives to build a bright future.
This is the 25th year of awarding scholarships to children and
grandchildren of members of this union, totaling $1,005,000.
The ceremony took place on October 13th at Gerry Gallagher
Hall, the union’s headquarters in Toronto, and was attended by
the award-winning students and their families.

Jack took the opportunity to congratulate the parents and
grandparents, who were very proud of their children and
grandchildren and grateful to LIUNA 183, for the scholarships
and also for their important performance and support in the
students’ lives.

“Our members are the backbone of our organization and we
express our gratitude to their unwavering commitment to
supporting education in their communities.” Said Jack Oliveira.
Among the distinguished guests, Joseph Mancinelli,
International Vice-President of LIUNA and Canadian Director,
who gave a beautiful speech, Carmen Principato, Business
Director of LIUNA 506 and LIUNA OPDC, Joel Felipe, President
of the C.C.W.U, Executive Board, retirees and staff of these
unions, in addition to Julie Dzerowicz, Federal Deputy for
Davenport.

fisionomia e palavras de Jack Oliveira, gerente de
Mnegócios do LIUNA Local 183 e Liuna OPDC, por
entregar 113 bolsas de estudos este ano e ver os alunos
radiantes por tamanha conquista que tem os incentivado a
darem o melhor deles e que vai transformar as suas vidas para
construir um futuro brilhante.
Este já é o 25º ano de entrega de bolsas de estudos para filhos
e netos dos membros desse sindicato e que somam o valor
total de $1,005,000.
A cerimônia aconteceu no dia 13 de outubro no Gerry Gallagher
Hall, sede do sindicato em Toronto e contou com a presença Lest
dos alunos premiados e seus familiares.
Jack aproveitou a oportunidade para congratular os pais e
avós, que demonstravam muito orgulho dos filhos e netos e
gratidāo ao LIUNA 183, pelas bolsas de estudos e também pelo
importante desempenho e apoio deles na vida dos estudantes.

e expressamos nossa gratidão ao seu compromisso inabalável
em apoiar a educação em suas comunidades.” Afirmou Jack
Oliveira.

Entre os distintos convidados, Joseph Mancinelli, Vice-
Presidente Internacional da LIUNA e Diretor Canadense, que fez forget
um belo discurso, Carmen Principato, Diretor de Negócios do
LIUNA 506 e LIUNA OPDC, Joel Felipe, Presidente do C.C.W.U,
Conselho Executivo, aposentados e equipe desses sindicatos,
além de Julie Dzerowicz, deputada federal pela Davenport.
